Week 1: The Somatic Architecture of Ambition

Coach Certification Training Workbook

Welcome to Week 1 of your six-week certification journey. This week, we explore how your personality dictates your physical vulnerability and how "borrowing from your foundation to build the roof" leads to systemic fracture.

Part 1: Understanding the Somatic Link

The Godley Health Method™ maps the connection between how a client behaves and where their body breaks down, allowing practitioners to target the root cause of systemic distress.

The Three-Step Process:

  • Behavioural Input: Personality traits, drives, and coping mechanisms.
  • Systemic Response: How the nervous system processes these inputs.
  • Physical Manifestation: The specific somatic vulnerability or illness.

Reflection Activity:

Looking at the DISC model, identify which behavioural style feels most like you:

  • Dominant (D): Direct, highly driven, strictly results-focussed.
  • Inspiring (I): High social energy, enthusiastic, emotionally expressive.
  • Supportive (S): Loyal, accommodating, conflict-avoidant.
  • Conscientious (C): Analytical, detail-oriented, perfectionist.

Part 2: The Load-Bearing Audit

When ambition is high, we often ignore the "physical load-bearing costs" of performance. Review the table below to see how specific "flaws" in our architecture lead to physical stress.
