Identifying Burnout through Behavioural Profiling
How to spot team members in trouble

The Godley Health Method™ identifies potential burnout by measuring the physiological and psychological gap between a person's natural state and their current adapted behaviour.
Identifying Burnout through Behavioural Profiling
The primary mechanism for identifying burnout in the DISCPlus model is the Behaviour Shift and resulting Tension Level.
1. Measuring the "Shift"
The system compares two distinct profiles for every team member:
- Internal Profile: The "true self" or natural behavior pattern that remains stable from approximately age seven.
- External Profile: The "public face" or current working style an individual adopts to meet the perceived requirements of their role.
2. The Tension vs. Adaptability Factor
The DISCPlus software calculates a specific Tension percentage based on the highest shift observed.
- Tension Level: This indicates the amount of pressure an individual is currently under.
Adaptability Factor: This measures how far an individual can comfortably modify their behaviour.
Burnout Warning Sign: When a team member’s Tension level exceeds their Adaptability score, the system flags that "trouble is potentially brewing".
Burnout Indicators by DISC Style
The Godley Health Method identifies specific "shifts" which can indicate that a team member is burning out, before their health deteriorates.
Behavioural Sign of Burnout
Health Indicators
Direct (D)Becomes disruptive or erratic.
High blood pressure, cardiovascular issues, burnout.Inspiring (I)Over-commits and over-indulges.
Fatigue, high blood pressure, adrenal conditions.
Supportive (S)Speeds up pace and attempts to multitask.
Ulcers, IBS, insomnia, chronic fatigue.
Conscientious (C)Cuts corners on processes or withdraws.
Migraines, anxiety, depression.
Integrated Health Analysis
The Godley Health Method™ goes beyond behavioural observation by integrating functional biology to identify team members at risk.
- HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis): Provides "cellular insight" into hidden stress and metabolism.
- Functional Biology: Uses laboratory tests (dry blood and mineral analysis) to identify where the immune system is compromised due to sustained behavioral stress.
- The "SQUEG" Identification: Identifies "square pegs in round holes" who are modifying their behavior so much that their productivity and health are suffering.
